A guest at a hotel was left seriously spooked during his stay, with people comparing his room to a scene straight out of a “horror film”.
Taking to TikTok, the user Ashiv_ titled his video “new fear unlocked” as he shared the unsettling discovery he made on his hotel room bathroom door.
Initially, he showed the standard lock near the handle, which functioned normally. But then, as he moved the camera up, a second, more sinister lock came into view at the top of the door. Alarmingly, this lock seemed designed to trap someone inside the bathroom from the outside. “I hate this,” he expressed in the clip. “Why can you only lock it from the outside?”
He continued, voicing his concern: “What if I go to poo and someone bursts in the door and locks me in? What then!?” The video has since gone viral on TikTok, racking up more than 15,000 views. Commenters were both baffled and alarmed, with many agreeing that the situation resembled something out of a horror movie.
Some called the extra lock “sketchy”, while others quipped that it was like “living out all the horror games you’ve been playing lately”. Another remarked it was akin to “some horror game irl”.
Others expressed they would steer clear of using the loo altogether. “That is terrifying,” one commented, while another asked: “What is happening there?” A different user recommended some drastic measures: “See those Philip screws? Take those out and disassemble that thing while you stay there.”
Others wondered if there was a valid reason for the extra lock, with one suggesting: “I’m assuming since I worked security in a hotel it’s for emergencies, EMS or the security suits or managers have a master key that’ll unlock that but no one else.”
