A woman who lost 140lbs by gradually changing her lifestyle explained that her journey began with two simple habits, allowing her to shed 40 pounds in three months – without counting calories or going to the gym.

Liza Pasquale became a personal trainer after discovering simple tricks that helped her lose a lot of weight fast, and now posts on TikTok as lizamarie_fit.

Liza said on TikTok that her journey started with two simple changes.

She would walk 10,000 steps a day, and completely cut out takeaways, which she says was enough to lose between 30lbs and 40lbs in three months.

In her video Liza stated : “I’ve tried everything in my life to lose weight, every single diet I tried and I failed because I tried to be perfect with everything. I expected an immediate result, I over complicated things, I held myself to such a high standard that it was unrealistic …”

She did not know just how impactful walking 10,000 steps a day would have on her fitness journey, reports the Surrey Live.

Liza said: “I want you to know that the power of walking is so strong. I want you to know that walking is the number one thing that helped me to lose the weight.”

She explained that at the start of her fitness journey she would walk between 20 minutes and an hour every evening. As well as walking, she also cut out takeaways from her diet, sticking to making hearty cooked meals at home.

Liza then used the ‘habit stacking’ method to add in more changes to her routine, keeping her on top of her weight-loss. The next step in her ‘habit stacking’ was working out two or three times a week as well as eating better and 10,000 steps that she ‘stacked’ previously.

After losing 80lbs she started calorie counting, so she could keep on track of what she was eating. Making sure to burn more calories than she took.

However, she caved in and got a gym membership after she lost 100lbs.

Liza said: “I got my gym membership after I lost 100lbs. I turned all of these things into my lifestyle by not doing them all at once and doing them one step at a time.

“You can change your life in any moment, you can lose weight at home, you do not need to do anything crazy to lose the weight.”

Liza says the key to weight loss and fitness is “consistency and nutrition”.
