Amanda Abbington and Martin Freeman split up back in 2016, however the pair have remained friends, and the actress revealed that her ex husband is invited to her next wedding.
The previous couple met in 2000, and share two children together – son Joe, 18, and daughter Grace, 16.
Now divorced they both now have new partners. Martin, has found love again with French actress Rachel Benaissa, who is 22 years younger than him.
Despite Amanda allegedly feeling “utterly helpless” after their split, it seems the pair are still close, reports the Mirror.
Now she is with Britains Got Talent star Jonathan Goodwin, and the pair are set to tie the knot at a friend’s UK based farm.
In an interview with Closer Magazine, she mentioned that her daughter Grace will be a bridesmaid , as well as being asked about Martin and if he will make an appearance.
When asked if he would attend, she said: “I would imagine so. We’re still mates, we’re still good friends. It’s important to maintain a good, healthy relationship with your ex if you have children, I think.”
Amanda and Jonathan met online, where they started interacting on Twitter/X in 2012.
Speaking about their relationship she told The Guardian: “We were both in relationships at the time, but we admired each other’s work and occasionally liked each other’s tweets.”
Although it wasn’t until 2021 when they were both single, that they finally got together. At the start, the pair’s relationship mainly consisted of online messages, and phone calls as they lived in opposite parts of the world.
Jonathan revealed that he knew they would marry each other eventually, and within 30 minutes of meeting for the first time, he popped the question.
Unfortunately, Jonathan suffered from a serious injury that left him paralysed from the waist down, whilst performing putting a devastating blow on their fairytale romance.
The daredevil fell 30ft to the ground following a suspension stunt that went horribly wrong, whilst on America’s Got Talent. Jonathan was intending to land on an air mattress, but was sandwiched between two cars which burnt into flames, the incident happened just weeks after he proposed.
Although this has not stopped the couple’s romance from thriving, Amanda has said that Jonathan is extremely Independent.
After Amanda and Martin’s split, he remained tight-lipped about the whole situation.
The former Sherlock star, however, revealed in July that the split was “very amicable”. He told the Financial Times at the time: “I’m not with Amanda anymore. It’s very, very amicable — I’ll always love Amanda.”
