A suspect arrested over the death of David Graham has been released by police – as officers continue to investigate the dad’s street death.

Police Scotland announced on Wednesday afternoon that the 28-year-old had been detained in connection with the death of the 38-year-old following an incident in Uddingston.

And this evening the force released an update on the case which revealed that the unnamed man had been “released pending further enquiries“.

A statement read: “A 28-year-old man who has been arrested in connection with the death of 38-year-old David Graham in Uddingston has been released pending further enquires.

“Officers were called around 7.35pm on Sunday, 6 October, 2024, after Mr Graham was attacked while walking in General’s Gate. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Enquiries are continuing.

“A 29-year-old man was previously arrested and charged in connection with the death and appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Thursday, 10 October. A 41-year-old man was arrested in connection with the death and released pending further enquiries.”

Liam Kippen was the first to be arrested over the alleged murder and appeared in the dock on Thursday charged over the father’s death.

Kippen, of Motherwell, Lanarkshire, made no plea and was remanded in custody while the case was continued for prosecutors to investigate further.

No future court dates have been for the 29-year-old, but a second court hearing is expected to take place at at Hamilton Sheriff Court next week.
