Pregnancy and baby loss charity, Dumfries and Galloway Sands, has been given a £2,700 boost from the Marchmount Sands Striders’ Edinburgh Kilt Walk endeavours.

A dozen members of the Marchmount Bowling Club completed the 20.5 miles of the Kilt Walk’s Mighty Stride recently raising the magnificent amount through sponsorship, donations, and proceeds of a raffle. There will gift aid to claim on some of the cash donations, that will add to the total.

Handing over the bumper cheque, club member Paul Fraser, whose family nominated the charity for support from Marchmount Bowling Club for this year said: “We’re absolutely amazed at the amount of money we’ve raised and Claire, Jamie and I would like to extend our thanks to everyone who has donated. Sands means a lot to us and we’re so pleased that we’ve been able to do something to raise funds for them.”

Dumfries and Galloway Sands representative, Alison Carruthers thanked the team for their support: “A huge thank you to Marchmount Bowling Club for such a great effort in raising such a fantastic amount for our charity. This kind donation will go a long way to supporting bereaved families across Dumfries and Galloway.”
