COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS/Gray News) – A missing person search continues more than a week after the disappearance of a former Broadway dancer in South Carolina.

Zelig Williams, 28, was last seen leaving his home on Longwood Road in Richland County on Oct. 3. A day later, his car was found more than 30 miles away parked at the Palmetto Trail Head parking lot.

However, the 28-year-old has been nowhere to be found.

Actor Hugh Jackman, who worked alongside Williams in New York, has also made a public call to action to help bring Williams home.

Williams is widely known for his dancing career. He’s danced in several Broadway productions including, “Hamilton” and “MJ: The Musical.”

Additionally, family members are continuing with their own search. They have hired private investigator Chandra Cleveland.

According to the Williams’ family, it remains unclear where he was headed the morning of his disappearance but they are eager to speak with anyone who may have seen or spoken with him before he has gone missing.

Loved ones also note that he needs his medication.

Cleveland said anyone with further information on the whereabouts of Williams is welcome to contact her at 855-218-7772.

Richland County Sheriff’s Department investigators said they are searching through phone records and will release any new developments.

As Williams’ family continues the search, some of the people that he’s impacted most in the dance community, specifically, at the Southern Strut Dance Studio, are using their talents to also raise awareness.

The group performed a dance made in honor of Williams. They performed it for the first time Thursday night ― just a week after he disappeared.

“After they were done performing, they said they felt hopeful and they wanted to share the same love Zelig gave to them back to him,” Nancy Giles, the owner of Southern Strutt, said. “It keeps me wanting to keep his name and face out there. So people will know he is human and he is worth finding.”
