(Gray News) – A memorial service for Ethel Kennedy, widow of the late Robert F. Kennedy and activist in her own right, will be held Wednesday in Washington, D.C., and presidents current and former will take part.

President Joe Biden will deliver the eulogy for Kennedy, who died Thursday at the age of 96.

Former presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama are also expected to speak at the event at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle.

“Along with a lifetime’s work in social justice and human rights, our mother leaves behind nine children, 34 grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom love her dearly,” the family statement said in announcing her death, the Associated Press reported.

Ethel Kennedy’s funeral, which was closed to the public, was held Monday in Centerville, Massachusetts.
