BBC’s The One Show hosts Roman Kemp and Alex Jones made a major career announcement about one of their co-stars last night. During their half-hour segment, they covered various topics before sharing some exciting updates about Children In Need.

Alex built anticipation, saying: “There’s just over a month to go until we’ll all be putting on our Pudsey ears and raising an incredible amount of money for this year’s Children In Need appeal on November 15.”

Roman then made the big reveal: “Yeah, and we can announce that the presenter helping to host the big night for the very first time is here right now. It’s Vernon Kay!”

Vernon Kay made a smooth entrance, joining Aiden Turner and Bella Maclean from Rivals on set. Roman congratulated him, saying, “Congratulations, mate, on taking on hosting duties for the big night. You’re one of six presenters.” He then asked Vernon about his new role: “What made you want to take on hosting duties?”

Vernon, known for his appearance on I’m A Celebrity, shared that his inspiration came from a personal connection to Children In Need, recalling his previous charity run for the cause. “It really pulled at my heartstrings, seeing firsthand how important Children In Need is to so many people,” he explained.
