As a supermodel perhaps it’s only natural that Heidi Klum is happy that her daughter Leni, 20, is following in her footsteps.

But from the reaction not everyone thinks it was a good idea for the pair to strip down to their underwear for their latest photo collab.
The America’s Got Talent judge wore a wine-coloured scalloped bralette and “’80s style Brazilian” underwear while her 20-year-old daughter donned a lacy black bra-and-underwear set.
“@Leniklum and I had so much fun shooting this,” Heidi, 51, captioned her post about the campaign. “Find us on billboards all over Germany and on TV!”
The mum and daughter have posed for several Intimissimi collections over the past two years, including a red-themed line of intimates for Christmas last year.
“You’re my best friend because I can tell you everything,” Leni told her mom in a video taken during the shoot.
Heidi did her best to close off any negative responses by restricting comments on her own Instagram post, but some fans seemed to find the photos disturbing and commented on Intimissi’s own Instagram page, which allowed anyone to comment.
‘What normal mom would pose together with her daughter in lingerie?’ one concerned poster wondered.
But the most-liked comments under Leni’s and the brand’s Instagram posts weren’t quite so positive.
“This is really weird and inappropriate,” one comment noted. Another user concurred under Leni’s post: “This is kinda weird.”
A comment with more than 6,000 likes reads: “Quite strange to do this with your mum.”
“This makes me feel uncomfortable,” one user wrote.
“Heidi looks amazing. But why would you pose in lace revealing lingerie with your mother?” another added.
“Gives me a yucky feeling. And before someone tells me to unfollow Don’t! I didn’t follow it in the first place. It showed up on my feed. There is no place on this ad where I can block it anyway so I am commenting.”
“Dude that’s your mom,” someone shared.
However, not everyone had a problem with the image.
“Two beautiful ladies! I can’t imagine why anyone would be critical of this. People have been modelling underwear forever,” a user wrote.
“I am not bothered by this photo,” another added. “There is nothing unsettling happening here. The underwear isn’t suggestive. I don’t get what the issue is.”
Though Leni had several modelling opportunities while growing up, her mom preferred to keep her out of the public eye.
When she turned 16 in 2020, Heidi deemed her “old enough” to pursue a modelling career and played assistant to her daughter in her first-ever magazine shoot for Vogue Germany.
“It was only a matter of time before I would try to become a model myself,” Leni told the magazine at the time. “The first offer came when I was only 12 or 13, from a brand I liked to wear: Brandy Melville. At that time I begged my mother, but no chance. Now I understand that it would have been too early.”
In describing the collection, Intimissimi said: “The focus is on elegant lace styles in delicate nude, dark bordeaux and classic black. Leni is Heidi’s only child with Italian businessman Flavio Briatore, and British singer Seal adopted Leni during his nearly decade-long relationship with Heidi, which resulted in three children: Lou, Johan and Henry.
