A four-year-old girl is fighting for her life after being hit by a car in Glasgow yesterday afternoon.

The youngster was on Cumberland Street in the south side at around 3pm on Tuesday, October 15, when she was struck by a white MG HS.

Mercy crews raced to the scene and the girl was rushed to the Royal Hospital for Children, where her condition is described as critical. The driver of the MG HS vehicle was not injured.

Police Scotland have launched a probe into the incident and officers have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with everyone involved and our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“We are asking anyone with information, including dash-cam footage or private CCTV, to get in touch if they can assist with our investigation.”
