A young man fatally stabbed in vicious attack on a Bronx street was a tireless worker whose death devastated a family that’s lost two others to gun violence, a relative told the Daily News.

The family of Quadir Corbett, 22,  was reeling in the wake of a deadly attack that left Corbett with multiple stab wounds in the chest, abdomen, back and arm near E. 178th St. and Bryant Ave. in West Farms at around 2:25 a.m. Tuesday morning. Qyadir’s uncle, Lylenell Corbett, 35, said his nephew was “loyal” and a “hard worker” who helped his mother with her job at the city Department of Parks and Recreation, and helped look after his little sister.

“He was a good kid, very smart and loyal,” the uncle said. “He was a great big brother to his 11-year-old sister. He took care of her,” adding that Quadir also helped out “working for the Parks Department with his mom.”

The uncle also recounted that tragedy is no stranger to a family that’s mourned for two of the victim’s cousins who died after gun violence in the city. One of the victim’s cousins, Tyron Corbett, 15, was shot and killed in 2005.

Another cousin, Luis Hawkins, 17 was shot and killed at the West Farms train station in 2010 — shot in the chest just an hour after Christmas as he was getting off a Manhattan-bound No. 2 train at the West Farms Square/E. Tremont Ave. stop on Dec. 26 2010. Hawkins died at St. Barnabas Hospital. It was unclear at the time what sparked the shooting, though investigators questioned 14 people who were on the train with Hawkins.

“It was someone firing into the crowd in both cases” the uncle said. “Somehow our family always seems to get hit.”

Corbett was stabbed twice in the abdomen, once in the back, four times in the chest and once in the arm, a police source said. Medics rushed the young man, who was in critical condition, to St. Barnabas Hospital, but he could not be saved.

“He was a gardener and a cleaner,” the uncle said. “It’s sad, just sad. His mother is devastated, we have no idea who did this and why,” the uncle added.

The stabber fled after the bloodshed, and there has been no arrest in the case.
