Harry Styles‘ mum, Anne Twist, has paid a heartfelt tribute to Liam Payne following his tragic death at the age of 31.

Sharing her grief with her 2.5 million Instagram followers, Anne posted a black screen with a red broken heart emoji across it.

Her caption simply read: “Just a boy…,” accompanied by another broken heart. The post was quickly filled with messages of support from devastated One Direction fans.

“I’m so heartbroken for his friends and family, I’m in utter shock,” one fan expressed. Another added: “Gone too soon and so young. Forever in our hearts Liam.”

A third sent their love, saying: “All my love to You, Harry, Gemma and anyone else in your family and friends who knew Liam.”

In other news, Zayn Malik’s sister Waliyha shared a nostalgic photo of herself and Liam on X, formerly known as Twitter, reports the Mirror.

“I can’t believe it, I honestly have no words for this sad moment… I really can’t believe it,” she confessed.

Liam tragically fell from the third floor of a hotel building in Argentina’s capital. Emergency services including police, firefighters and ambulances were spotted outside the hotel following the incident.

Reports suggest that police were called to the scene due to a man behaving aggressively, possibly under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The tragic discovery of a body in the inner courtyard of a hotel has led to a police investigation after being alerted by the hotel manager. It is believed that Liam, who had recently been enjoying his travels in Argentina, suffered a fall from a height of around 13 or 14 metres, causing “very serious injuries incompatible with life.”

City ambulance service spokesperson Alberto Crescenti detailed that the victim had dropped approximately 40 metres, sustaining “severe injuries which were incompatible with life.”

In their report, a local ambulance authority told TN: “At 17.04 through the 911 integrated public safety system, we were alerted of a person who was in an internal courtyard of the management of a south house hotel. At 17.11 a SAME team arrived and verified the death of this man and later we found out that he was a singer in a musical group. Unfortunately, he had injuries that were incompatible with life, as a result of his fall, so we had to confirm his death, there was no possibility of resuscitation.”

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has affirmed ongoing communications with Argentine officials concerning “the reports of the death of a British man”. In recent times, Liam had shared his Argentine experiences online and had been present at the concert of Niall, a former bandmate.

Skyrocketing to fame at the age of 16, Liam became a part of the world’s most famous boyband.

Tributes have been flooding social media for the ‘Strip That Down’ singer. Among those paying their respects is Paris Hilton, who expressed her sorrow at the news of Liam’s passing, sending “love and condolences” to his loved ones.

She took to Twitter to say: “So upsetting to hear the news of @LiamPayne passing. Sending love and condolences to his family and loved ones. RIP my friend.”

Irish singing and TV presenting duo Jedward also paid tribute on Twitter, writing: “RIP Liam Payne. condolences to friends and family.”

They added: “Sending strength to Cheryl and his son Bear and all the One direction Family.”

John and Edward Grimes, better known as Jedward, began their careers on X Factor, the same reality TV show that launched One Direction. The BRIT Awards also honoured the late star.

Liam had won an impressive seven awards, having been nominated 12 times over the years at the BRIT Awards. In a statement shared on Twitter, the official account wrote: “We’re incredibly sad to learn of the tragic passing of Liam Payne. Our thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family at this time”.

Just weeks before his death, the pop star posted a photo on Instagram alongside his former bandmates. In what turned out to be his final post, the singer paid tribute to American documentary filmmaker, writer and TV producer Morgan Spurlock.

Liam shared a photo of himself stood next to Morgan, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik.

Liam took to social media to pay tribute, writing: “Rest in peace Morgan Spurlock it was a pleasure working with you.”

Devastated fans quickly filled the post with their own tributes after hearing about the untimely passing of Spurlock.
