A teary woman has spoken candidly about meeting Liam Payne hours before his tragic death.

Carola Gauna took to TikTok to share she had ‘goosebumps’ during the encounter with the One Direction star. The pair chatted and snapped a photo together – with the fan stating the 31-year-old had even sang for her.

In a clip that’s been viewed millions of times, she recalled: “He smiled at me and sang. I got goosebumps’… I’m one of the last people he spoke to. I’m one of the last people he sang to. I went from having the happiest day of my life to one of the saddest.”

Struggling to come to terms with the loss of the highly-adored singer, Carola asked for some space. She added: “Don’t write to me, don’t call me. Have some decency.”

Then in a follow-up video, she added: “Do you understand that I still have his perfume on me? I think it’s crazy. I know he was a celebrity and he didn’t even care about me, but today I had a nice moment with him. How unfair!”

Chloe’s clip has been played 2.8 million times – and commenters were quick to offer their words of support. One responder wrote: “Omg I am so sorry.”

Another said: “Imagine meeting your idol and then knowing that you were one of the people who heard him sing. Oh my heart, sending strength.” And a third added: “This is so devastating.”

Liam’s death has been confirmed following a tragic fall from the balcony of his hotel in Argentina. The singer tragically died on the spot after falling from the hotel in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.

Alberto Crescenti, head of Buenos Aires emergency services, disclosed that despite the prompt response, medics could not save the star. The former One Direction star passed away due to multiple injuries, including a skull fracture.

Crescenti stated this morning: “Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention, and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life. Based on what the team saw, there was apparently a cranial fracture and extremely serious injuries that led to his immediate death.”

Last night, Liam’s body was transferred to a city morgue on Viamonte Street, a mere 15-minute drive southwest from the high-end hotel he had been staying at.

Ever since the news broke, fans and celebrity friends have been sending in their tributes. X Factor stars Olly Murs and Dermot O’Leary are among those to share their condolences, as well as Harry Styles’ mum Anne Twist.
