Police have shed light on the tragic passing of Liam Payne in Argentina. Argentine authorities were summoned to a Buenos Aires hotel prior to the One Direction singer’s death following reports of an “aggressive man”, they disclosed.

According to the police, hotel staff indicated that the individual “could be under influence of drugs and alcohol”.

The 31 year old Payne was reportedly behaving in a disorderly manner and required escorting back to his room before he passed away, with hotel employees making a frantic call to the authorities.

Local media witnesses claimed Liam ‘had been acting erratically in the hotel lobby and smashed his laptop’ before he ‘had to be carried back to his room’. A call was made to the police by a hotel worker urgently requesting assistance with an inebriated guest, as per audio from the case obtained via the Buenos Aires security ministry.

“When he is conscious he is destroying the entire room and we need you to send someone,” the hotel employee stated. Payne was discovered deceased in a hotel courtyard on Wednesday night.

The establishment is situated on Costa Rica Street in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires, as confirmed by local officials, reports Birmingham Live.

Earlier in the month, Payne was reported to have shared a Snapchat revealing his plans to travel to Argentina, partly to catch former bandmate Niall Horan’s performance there. In a statement, Buenos Aires police disclosed that Payne met his end after plummeting from the balcony of a hotel on the third floor.

Pablo Policicchio, communications director for the Buenos Aires Security Ministry, informed the Associated Press that the singer “had jumped from the balcony of his room.”

The emergency services received a call shortly after 5pm local time concerning an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” revealed Policicchio. The hotel manager reported to law enforcement that they had “a guest who is overwhelmed with drugs and alcohol.”

“He’s destroying the entire room and, well, we need you to send someone, please,” the manager recounted during the call, as per audio obtained by the Associated Press.

Tragically, Payne sustained “extremely serious injuries” and was declared deceased at the scene by paramedics, according to the Associated Press.
