When you’re preparing for a holiday, ensuring that all your essentials are packed is vital. However, this process can be quite stressful, particularly if you’re in a hurry or unsure of what to pack.

In such situations, you might end up haphazardly stuffing items into your bag or suitcase without proper organisation or thought about their placement.

We’re all aware that flights can be turbulent experiences – not to mention the loading and unloading of your luggage, which can cause chaos with your possessions.

But a frequent flyer on TikTok suggests there are several straightforward tips to avoid damage during flights and reach your destination in an organised manner, reports the Express.

Lifestyle influencer and mother, Chantel Mila, recently shared these invaluable tips on TikTok, revealing that she’s been on 32 flights this year alone – hence, she knows a thing or two about packing.

One of her most crucial tips is how to prevent your makeup from shattering or getting damaged during rough travels, a problem that is sadly too common.

She advises that you can prevent this by taking your powder makeup – be it bronzer, blusher or eyeshadow – and inserting a cotton pad into it before closing the lid.

This method will cushion the product and stop it from breaking, even when your bag is being tossed around.

Cotton pads serve as more than just makeup removers; they can help keep your clothes smelling sweet. Spritz them with your best-loved perfume and pop the pads into your luggage for a makeshift deodoriser.

For those who find it challenging to stay organised on the move, Chantel has a suggestion worth considering – that’s hanging organisers for both packing and once you’re settled in your hotel room.

You can pack these with your garments, tucking them neatly into your suitcase, similar to packing cubes. Once at your destination, you can effortlessly hang them up in the closet.

It’s an efficient way to keep things in one place for easy packing and unpacking.

Finally, if film-watching is part of your travel routine but dread holding your phone throughout, consider bringing your sunglasses on board.

As Chantel points out, your sunglasses can ingeniously serve as a makeshift phone stand. Cross their legs slightly, flip them so the lenses face outward, and your device will snugly slot in between.

Chantel’s tips were met with gratitude in the comments section. One user remarked: “Love the cotton pad in the makeup! “.

Another wrote enthusiastically: “Omg the sunglasses hack! So good.”

And a third chimed in with appreciation: “These are all so good.”
