A man has been airlifted to hospital after an incident at a Scots quarry. Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were scrambled to Langside Quarry in Kennoway, Fife, after receiving reports of a man becoming injured on-site at 9am on Thursday.

Crews attended and the 29-year-old male was found injured. He was airlifted to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment, where his current condition is unknown. Police say inquiries into the incident are ongoing.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed.

A statement from Police Scotland reads: “We were called around 9am on Thursday, October 17, to a report of a man injured at a commercial premises on Langside Road in Kennoway. Emergency services attended and a 29-year-old man was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and the HSE is aware.”

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 08.55am to attend an incident in Kennoway. We dispatched one ambulance, our trauma team, our special operations team and an air ambulance to the scene. We airlifted one male patient in his 20s to New Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.”
