Prince Louis, the youngest of the Wales family, often delights the public with his childlike antics at royal events, such as yawning, dancing, and making funny faces. Despite being like many six year olds in this regard, his favourite food is surprisingly sophisticated.

In 2019, Kate Middleton shared with culinary legend Mary Berry that her son has a particular fondness for beetroot, a healthy choice grown in their family garden.

She revealed: “We’ve got carrots, beans, beetroot, a massive favourite, Louis absolutely loves beetroot.” While some royal followers might find his preference unusual, Louis also enjoys more typical children’s fare like pizza and pasta, the Express reports.

These dishes are part of the home-cooked meals Princess Kate prepares for her children, including curry. During a visit to Lavender Primary School, The Princess of Wales told Matthew Kleiner-Mann about the family’s cooking activities.

He said at the time: “She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her. They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff.”

Furthermore, Kate mentioned to Mary Berry five years prior that the children take pleasure in making pizzas from scratch, using Berry’s own recipe.

She said: “Actually one of the last things we cooked, together, was your pizza dough. We made pizzas with your pizza dough recipe…They absolutely loved it.”

In the same chat, Kate also confessed that one of Louis’ first words was “Mary”, as he could see the cookbooks in their family kitchen.
