Queen Camilla’s son Tom Parker Bowles has revealed his opinion on his mother’s marriage to King Charles.
The 49-year-old has been a food writer for decades and has recently written a book about the royal family’s eating habits.
Mr. Parker Bowles usually does not comment on the royals but he reveals details of their dining habits.
Along with these particulars, the restaurant critic has also passed judgement on his mother’s partnership with the King, reports The Express.
He said: “They’re very well suited. They work well together, and we’re happy that our mother is happy.”
Camilla’s son also includes his opinion on King Charles’ character, saying that his recent creative venture – Cooking & The Crown– would not have been possible without the monarch’s support.
He said: “It wouldn’t have happened without the Palace and the King.”
The book features a few of Queen Camilla’s recipes and some dishes relating to every monarch from Queen Victoria to King Charles.
He described King Charles as “the kindest, most knowledgeable, lovely man.”
Mr Parker Bowles added: “He is someone you can ask about food and it’s like asking an academic.”
He continued: “He’s trodden every corner of his kingdom; he knows farming – he’s a farming hero.”
Mr Parker Bowles has also dismissed rumours regarding his mother’s drinking habits and chain-smoking.
In an interview with The Times for his new book, the loyal son dispelled the “inaccurate” perception that the Queen likes to drink gin and smoke.
He said: “If anyone ever meets my mother, they always… I mean, a son would say this, but she’s someone I love going to have dinner with.
“And I go for a walk with her in Scotland. You’re always going to have your rows and differences of opinion. It would be very odd if we agreed [on] everything. Creepy. I certainly would annoy her sometimes.
“Oh, you know she has that reputation of drinking gin and smoking? Never drunk a glass of gin in her life. Don’t smoke.”
The 49-year-old speculated that the rumours came from Haydn Gwynne portrayal of Camilla in the Channel 4 sitcom The Windsors.
