A seven-month-old baby has died after being airlifted to a Scots hospital.

Emergency services rushed to the Watson Crescent area of Peterhead in Aberdeenshire after receiving reports of the baby girl falling unwell at 6.35pm on Tuesday. Crews attended the address and the infant was airlifted to Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.

The baby girl was rushed to Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital after being airlifted from Peterhead. Tragically, the tot died the following day.

Police are currently treating her death as unexplained. A report is due to be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 6.35pm on Tuesday, 15 October, 2024, officers received a report of a seven-month-old girl having taken unwell in the Watson Crescent area of Peterhead. Emergency services attended and the child was taken to hospital where she died on Wednesday, 16 October, 2024.

“The death is unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
