Marti Pellow stunned commuters at a Scottish train station today – belting out Wet Wet Wet hit Love is All Around in as the shocked crowd looked on.

The 59-year-old, real name Mark McLachlan, was joined by a choir for the rendition of the song, while radio presenting duo Ewen Cameron and Cat Harvey looked on.

The rendition of the song, which is a cover of The Troggs’ 1960s original and was included on the soundtrack of hit film Four Weddings and a Funeral, was accompanied by piano.

The Clydebank crooner – clad in a leather jacket, dark trousers and a scarf – directed the choir as they sang the 1994 classic at Glasgow’s Queen Street Station.

He then stopped and posed for pictures as he left the station, before making his exit on a colourful tour bus bearing his stage name on the front and ‘Love is All Around’ on the side.

He served as the lead singer of the pop group for 28 years, from the band’s formation in 1982 until their 1997 split, then again from their reformation in 2004 to his departure from the band in 2017.

As well as releasing albums as a solo artist, and performing in musical theatre productions in both Broadway and the West End, he is due to embark on a solo tour next year.

The tour will see him playing eight different venues across the UK, with six shows in England and a single show in both Scotland and Wales between October and November.

He said he was “beyond excited to bring the Love is All Around tour to life, celebrating the 30th anniversary of a song that means so much to so many.”
