Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful car fire in Harthill.

At around 10.30pm on Tuesday, October 15, a white Honda Civic was deliberately set alight on Victoria Road.

There were no reports of any injuries and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Enquiries are ongoing and officers are keen to trace a silver Ford Fiesta seen in the area around the time which was last seen heading towards West Main Street in Harthill.

Detective Constable Alison Geal told Lanarkshire Live: “The fire is being treated as wilful and our enquiries are ongoing.

“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the fire or who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time to contact us.”
