A lapdancer who makes $1,500 – around £1,150 – a night has revealed she has three strict rules her clients must follow.

Luna Sofia Miranda began working in strip clubs before branching out into burlesque shows and even recorded an erotic short film. But she has now revealed she has three firm rules that all of her clients must follow.

Speaking to The Times, she said: “No kissing, no spanking, no biting. “I tell people they have to be gentle — and then someone will do something crazy, like pull my hair or bite.”

Luna’s stripping career has been so successful she has now started teaching masterclasses to would-be dancers. Her class covers the harsh realities of stripping, including how she can make up to $1,500 on a “decent” night at Pumps in Brooklyn, New York, USA, and then next to nothing the following day.

The 25-year-old also discusses how to “rate” punters, build up a roster of regulars, net bigger tips, and upsell. She wants to teach dancers how to make money “even when the club is dead” and to protect themselves from predatory clients.

Luna’s own career took an unusual turn when film director Sean Baker walked into Pumps with his wife, film producer Samantha Quan. The dancer however was sceptical about the pair initially.

She recalls: “I thought oh great, another couple, they’re the worst tippers. But then we got chatting and he asked if I knew who he was. Of course I did. My parents taught film and they wouldn’t let me watch Disney growing up — they didn’t want me to believe in the happy Hollywood ending.”

Sean is known for directing films about people often marginalized. His 2017 film The Florida Project follows families struggling to make ends meet in the shadow of Disney World.

His latest project is the Palme d’Or-winning Anora, which takes a look at the lives of sex workers set in a fictional version of Pumps. The film has drawn comparisons to Pretty Woman, where Julia Roberts plays an escort.

Anora’s cast is made up predominantly of lap-dancers – including Luna – with only lead character Anora, nicknamed Ani, played by Once Upon a Time in Hollywood’s Mikey Madison. Her appearance in the film is set to see a spike in popularity for her classes.

Her students perform burlesque shows at the weekends. Luna says they are mostly made up of “college students” and “nine-to-fivers” with aspirations above covering the rent.

Discussing the frank realities of stripping, Luna admits she is a “sex worker” but “isn’t ashamed”. Ultimately, she confesses she is in the business “for the money”.
