Sainsbury’s is issuing a recall for its own brand Onion Rings due to the presence of unlisted allergens.

The crisps contain milk, soya and wheat (gluten), which are not declared on the packaging, posing a potential health risk to those with allergies or intolerances to these ingredients.

Sainsbury’s has advised customers who have bought the product to return it to their nearest store for a full refund.

“We are asking customers that have purchased the above products not to consume them and return them to their nearest Sainsbury’s store, where they will receive a full refund.

“For any concerns or queries or if you are unable to reach a store, then please visit our website Sainsbury’s.co.uk/help.”

They added: “No other products have been affected by this issue, Sainsbury’s would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
