“Vile” trolls have hijacked the review section for the hotel where Liam Payne was staying when he tragically passed away. Officials have claimed that the former One Direction star “jumped from the balcony” of his room in Argentina, sustaining “multiple traumas” which led to “internal and external bleeding”.

The heartbreaking event took place on Wednesday evening after Liam returned to his third-floor room at the Casa Sur in Buenos Aires. He had been on holiday with his girlfriend Kate Cassidy and had recently supported former bandmate Niall Horan at a concert two weeks prior.

While most people have expressed their sorrow and condolences online, some have resorted to making cruel jokes about the 31 year old’s passing. A number of individuals have posted nasty remarks on the hotel’s Google reviews relating to Liam’s time at the upscale venue.

These reviews have been circulating on social media where his loyal fans have fought back, calling them out for their disgusting behaviour. One fan said: “Low life scum.” Another added: “I genuinely hope you get all the help you need with your insecurities.” A third user said: “People have way to much time in their sad little lives.”

One more added: “Who does this! They must have read the news and immediately thought ‘I know what I’ll do, I’ll write a review on the hotel, that’ll be funny won’t it’ – these people are sick and need help!” Others branded the reviews “vile”.

Liam was 14-years-old when he auditioned for The X Factor – and went on to form One Direction with bandmates Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik. Liam welcomed his son Bear with Cheryl in 2017, when he was aged 23. The couple parted ways the following year after a two-and-a-half year relationship.

In a joint statement, the One Direction members said: “We’re completely devastated by the news of Liam’s passing. In time, and when everyone is able to, there will be more to say. But for now, we will take some time to grieve and process the loss of our brother, who we loved dearly. The memories we shared with him will be treasured forever. For now, our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and the fans who loved him alongside us. We will miss him terribly. We love you Liam.”
