If your car is prone to condensation, you need to check out this hack.

The weather is getting colder, and many of us are waking up to condensation inside our cars. It might not be cold enough for frost just yet, but the nights are certainly chilly enough to create a layer of water on your windscreen for you to deal with before you head off to work.

Condensation is mostly found in older vehicles, where the seals around the windows and windscreen may have deteriorated. But it’s not just old cars that suffer from this issue, as various factors can lead to misty windscreens – including steam from hot drinks and even your own breath.

If you regularly have this issue with your car, you’ll be familiar with the annoyance of having to physically wipe down your windscreen each morning before setting off. However, there appears to be a solution to prevent your windscreen from fogging up.

According to a TikTok user named Lianne, all you need is something to absorb the moisture in your car to stop it from becoming foggy – particularly during the night when temperatures drop.

In her video, Lianne hailed the “game-changing” car dehumidifier bags that are meant to be placed on your dashboard overnight. These bags look like little bean bags and their purpose is to absorb the moisture caused by condensation, allowing drivers to enjoy a clear windscreen in the morning without the hassle of wiping it down.

She detailed: “Does your car look like this [with condensation] in the mornings? Mine just started to do this again every morning, which means it’s the time of year to bring these bad boys back out. Last night, I left one of these in my car. These are dehumidifier bags, and they’re a game-changer.

“Let me tell you, this saves me so much time in the colder months. All you need to do is chuck it on the dashboard, and it’s going to soak up all that moisture and condensation from inside, stopping you from having to faff around wiping your windscreen thing in the morning.”

Lianne also demonstrated that the particular brand she’s using can be refreshed for reuse by simply microwaving the bags before placing them back in the vehicle. You can purchase various dehumidifier bag brands on Amazon, which typically cost about £10 for two reusable ones.

Viewers of the video swiftly endorsed Lianne’s assertion that the bags are “life-changing,” echoing her sentiments with first-hand accounts. One commenter enthused: “I have one of these. They’re fantastic, so easy to dry them out, and it’s very worth it.”
