Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left furious after the show’s results were leaked online, revealing which contestant was eliminated. The BBC show, hosted by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman, features a judging panel consisting of Anton du Beke, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and head judge Shirley Ballas.
Although the results show is broadcast on Sunday evening, it is actually filmed on Saturday evening, and the eliminated contestant’s identity often gets leaked online. This week was no exception, and fans have taken to Twitter to express their shock and disappointment at the bottom two contestants.
One fan tweeted, “Blimey. Did not see one of those coming at all.” Another fan wrote, “first to dance on the live show curse has struck AGAIN ughh whyy I don’t want my fave starting.”
A third fan commented, “Wow shocked at the person in the bottom two who survived I really thought they’d get the votes because of their partner.”, reports Wales Online.
Meanwhile, Strictly stars Wynne Evans and Katya Jones returned to the dance floor on Saturday night after a viral clip showed them sharing an “inside joke” that got them into trouble. Nevertheless, she later clarified that she wasn’t uncomfortable and explained it was an insider joke that missed the mark.
Wynne, heartbroken by the negative attention, expressed earlier in the week: “I’m absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day. It’s not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we’re really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke.”
“It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK? We thought it was funny. It wasn’t funny. It has been totally misinterpreted.”
Saturday night’s Strictly show witnessed Jamie and Michelle and Montell and Johannes storm to the top of the leaderboard, with both duos scoring an impressive 39 out of 40 for their Paso Doble and Couple’s Choice performances respectively. Chris and Dianne’s eloquent Waltz secured them third place with 35 points, while Alijaz and Tasha’s Tango ensued, placing them fourth.
Wynne and Katya’s Quickstep cinched them fifth spot. On the flip side, Paul and Karen languished at the bottom, securing a mere 19 points for their Samba. Punam and Gorka were just above with a score of 21 for their Viennese Waltz.
Pete and Jowita, dented by Craig’s low score, finished not far off the tail end with their Rumba, while Sam and Nikita were placed slightly higher for their Quickstep.
