The hunt for the next winner of The Voice UK is in full swing, with auditions nearing completion as the teams fill up.

Coaches Will. I.Am, LeAnn Rimes, Tom Jones, Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher have been on a mission to discover the UK’s next singing sensation, and their search is almost at an end.

As the current series unfolds, we take a look at what some of the past winners have been up to since their victories.

Leanne Mitchell

Leanne Mitchell was crowned the first ever champion of The Voice UK back in 2012, under the guidance of Sir Tom Jones, reports the Mirror. Her debut single, a cover of Whitney Houston’s Run To You, was released in tandem with her win and reached number 45 in the UK music charts.

The following year, she released her self-titled album, which only managed to reach number 134 in the album charts, leading to her being dropped by Decca Records.

Despite keeping a low profile, Leanne continues to perform at various venues across the UK and on cruise ships. She is also a proud mother to her husband Rob’s son, Leo.

Andrea Begley

Andrea Begley emerged victorious in the second series of the BBC One show, with The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue as her mentor.

Her debut studio album was released in 2013 and peaked at number 7 in the UK Albums Chart, as well as charting in Ireland, her home country. She followed this up with the release of her second album, Soul of a Songbird, in 2019.

In addition to her ongoing singing career across the UK, Andrea also serves as an ambassador for the Royal National Institute of Blind People in Northern Ireland, due to her partial sightedness caused by glaucoma.

Kevin Simm

Fans of Liberty X were thrilled when Kevin Simm decided to take another stab at fame and ultimately won series 5 in 2016 under the guidance of mentor Paloma Faith.

He launched his solo album Recover in the same year and subsequently released three EPs between 2017 and 2019.

The year he triumphed on The Voice, Kevin reunited with his Liberty X bandmates to perform a medley of their biggest hits at Birmingham Gay Pride. He has since become the lead vocalist of a soft rock band named Wet, Wet, Wet, and their first album featuring Kevin as the lead was released in 2021.

Anthonia Edwards

Anthonia Edwards emerged as the winner of the competition series in 2022, marking Tom’s third victory in his Voice career.

Despite now having a music career, she returned to nursing, a profession she held prior to auditioning for the show. She frequently posts videos on her Instagram where she sings and plays instruments for her fans to enjoy.

Earlier this year, she participated in Strictly Come Dancing star Johannes Radebe’s House of JoJo tour, providing vocals and performing on stage multiple times.

Jen and Liv

The duo Jen and Liv are the most recent winners, clinching the last series in 2023, with Will. I.Am guiding them to victory.

Following their victory, the duo released a cover of Chaka Khan’s legendary track ‘I’m Every Woman’. They later rebranded as HUNNI and inked a deal with Universal Music Group.

Earlier this year, they dropped their debut single ‘Heartbeat’ under their new stage name.

The Voice UK continues on Saturday at 8:20pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
