The family of a 20-year-old man killed in a crash has described him as being “beautiful inside and out”.

In a statement issued by police, David Eubank’s family added: “We are so proud of the fine young man he had become.

He was funny, kind, caring and considerate at home, work and with his friends.

“David was so much loved by all who knew him. He has left a massive hole in our hearts – we are devastated by his loss.”

The Manchester Evening News reports that David, from Bolton, was a back seat passenger in a Citroen C1 which crashed with a Mercedes on Tuesday night.

The accident happened on the M61 near Rivington services.

Three other people – the drivers of both car and a second passenger in the Citroen – were seriously injured.

Police said the Citroen hit a barrier then collided with the Mercedes. A stretch of the southbound motorway was closed for more than 12 hours following the crash at around 11.30pm.
