Many of us are on a quest for luscious hair and strong nails – and the secret to achieving this might surprise you.

A doctor has recently revealed a recipe that people “need” if they want to achieve these beauty goals.

It appears that adding something quite simple to your diet could make all the difference to your beauty routine. Doctor Shireen, known as doctorshireen on TikTok, is renowned for her health advice online, but she recently shifted her focus to something that could enhance your appearance too.

It seems that a bit of bone broth is considered essential if you’re after glowing skin and silky smooth hair. If you’re looking to increase your children’s protein intake, she also suggested adding some into their meals for a health boost, assuring they’d never notice.

To prepare the broth, she begins by chopping a whole bunch of celery and two medium-sized onions, then adds two to three chopped carrots to the mix. Next, she includes the bones, which she assures are easy to obtain from the butcher.

In fact, her local meat supplier provides them for free. After cleaning them with boiling water, she combines the bones and vegetables in a pot and covers them with boiling water, then leaves it to simmer on the stove for three to four hours.

Once cooked, she strains the mixture into a pot to separate the broth. Doctor Shireen claimed it will “smell and taste divine”. She added: “I either just have it with a spoon or I dip some bread into it. It’s just so good.”

Since being posted, the video has garnered hundreds of views and prompted a flurry of comments from eager viewers curious about perfecting their broth. One person enquired: “What kind of bone do you ask for?” While another expressed excitement to try it out, commenting: “Looks yummy and healthy, will try.”

A third person questioned: “How long can it be stored in the fridge for?” The consensus amongst viewers is that the broth should ideally be consumed within three to five days, and they also highlighted the benefits for hair health.

It is rich in nutrients such as collagen, amino acids, calcium, potassium and magnesium, which are known to enhance hair quality by reducing breakage and enhancing appearance – a definite bonus to this delicious winter dish!
