A lot of people find it challenging to eat the right foods when attempting to lose weight.

It can be equally perplexing to navigate supermarket aisles for diet-friendly items. However, a fitness coach and fat loss guru has divulged her go-to high-protein purchases from budget retailer Lidl that assist in maintaining her fitness.

Hawys D, who goes by @coaching_in_hd on Instagram, frequently imparts fitness and nutritious eating tips to her 45,400 followers. She’s also well-versed in weight loss, having shed 20lbs herself this year.

In a recent Instagram reel, Hawys is seen visiting Lidl for her weekly high-protein grocery haul. The video, captioned ‘Lidl high protein bargains which helped me lose 20lbs’, shows her journey through the store.

Entering Lidl, Hawys informs her audience: “I’m showing the stuff that I would normally buy, but also some orange sticker goodies.”

She begins with Gelatelli’s high-protein ice cream, noting: “They’ve got three different flavours clocking at 20 grams of protein a pot.” She points out that at £2.49, it’s significantly cheaper than similar products from larger brands. Flavours available include peanut butter, salted caramel, and creamy chocolate.

Moving on to the pre-packed section, she shares with her followers: “I picked up one of these chicken shawarma salads.” Hawys mentions their convenience for those on the move, their low calorie count of just 300, and a “decent amount of protein” per serving.

Her next choice was a packet of grains, to which she confessed her “somewhat obsession”. She elaborated on their benefits: “They’re super high in fibre and a really easy protein boost.”

She then selected some Nixe tinned salmon, exclaiming: “This is the cheapest I’ve ever seen salmon.” Priced at just 99p a tin, Hawys declared it an “absolute bargain”.

Continuing with her shop, she picked up some turkey mince, noting that it’s “leaner and cheaper than beef”. The fitness guru suggested using it for tacos, chillies, bolognese, or “whatever you fancy”.

But she wasn’t finished with the meat selections yet, as she also grabbed some discounted chicken breast and lamb kebabs, each containing only 100 calories.

Adding to her haul, she chose “one of her staples” 0% cottage cheese. Hawys mentioned that it can be added to sauces, eggs, and much more. “It’s gonna give it a really nice, creamy finish, but a ton of protein,” she explained.

Wrapping up her shopping, she couldn’t resist some smokey bacon tomato ketchup, commenting: “I just had to share this smokey bacon flavoured ketchup straight in the basket.” She finished her video by telling her followers: “Those were my bargains for the week.”

The video was a hit with fans, garnering hundreds of likes. Several viewers also chimed in with their thoughts on the items she featured.
