The death of Liam Payne has been deemed ‘inconclusive’ by investigators. The former One Direction singer met with a tragic end after a fall from the third floor of a hotel in Argentina last week.

Despite ongoing police and prosecutor enquiries into the calamity that struck the 31-year-old at Buenos Aires’ Casa Sur Hotel last Wednesday, many answers remain elusive. A post-mortem report indicates that the much-mourned father encountered multiple injuries due to his balcony fall.

Nevertheless, lead detective Prosecutor Marcelo Roma has initiated additional histopathological, biochemical, and toxicological studies to ascertain if the adored celebrity had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time. With findings expected to take up to 15 days, Liam’s passing is currently deemed ‘inconclusive’ by Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office, according to Mail reports.

In deeply saddening events, Liam’s father Geoff was witnessed amidst the outpouring of grief, reading countless condolence messages next to a candlelit memorial erected outside Casa Sur hotel in Argentina. Amidst profound sorrow, the heartbroken father made the journey to South America to formally identify his son’s remains and organise their repatriation.

Plans for Liam’s funeral are anticipated to be held next month, reports the Mirror.

Liam is soon hoped to be repatriated, reunited “back where he belongs” with his loved ones, with father Geoff resolutely remaining by his side throughout this painful time.

A source revealed: “Liam’s loved ones just want him home, back where he belongs among his family. As they await the pathologist to finish their tests, behind the scenes, they have been tackling the logistics about how best to get his body back to the UK. There are no direct commercial flights between Buenos Aires and London, but naturally, they want the flight to have the least stops and interruptions possible. But Geoff is determined to accompany his son home.”

The source also mentioned that hiring a private jet is being considered, though few can manage the 6,915-mile trip on a single fuel load. Meanwhile, fans across the globe have paid touching tributes in various cities including London, New York, Paris, Stockholm, and Colombia.

These tributes come as details of Liam’s UK return emerge. Devotees known as ‘Directioners’ congregated at locales like London’s Hyde Park, at the renowned Peter Pan statue, and the Tuileries Garden in Paris.

In Hyde Park, Ellie Markham, aged 23, travelled all the way from Brighton stating, “I just wanted to be here to pay my respects and let Liam’s family know all Directioners are thinking of them. He will forever be in our hearts.”
