With half-term fast approaching, many are gearing up for a well-deserved break.

Yet, one traveller has sent out a vital tip for those considering a trip to Turkey. Roxy, who goes by travelswithroxy on TikTok, ventured to the sought-after destination with her kids and was shocked by the weather.

Her highly-anticipated sunbathing session turned rather chilly, as she confessed to her followers that she was “freezing”. In her latest TikTok post, Roxy advised: “If anyone’s coming to Turkey for October half-term, just bring a coat. It’s absolutely freezing. Unpack your T-shirts and shorts and pack some jumpers and coats, because it’s cold.”

She then showed her children on camera, who confirmed they were indeed feeling the cold. Roxy even had to purchase a coat during her stay to stay cosy beside the pool.

Despite acknowledging the weather‘s “beautiful” appearance, she warned that looks can be deceiving, with temperatures remaining low in the mornings and evenings. Consequently, she recommended packing extra layers to avoid her own holiday mishap.

She further commented: “It’s so cold. It’s 9.20am here. The water is like an ice bath. Absolutely beautiful, but absolutely freezing.”

Roxy’s video has since racked up more than 17,000 views online, sparking a flurry of comments. While some viewers shared their own positive weather experiences in Turkey this month, others appreciated the heads-up.

One individual remarked: “It’s October. Turkey is finished mid September. If you’re lucky, end of September. Another responded: “We came last year in October. Was lovely, red hot in day but yeah, cold at night.”

Further input came from another person, saying: “In Turkey at the moment. Hot during the day, but chilly in the evening.” Joining the conversation, someone else stated: “It’s literally fine. Jumper and shorts in the evening, if that. 26 today through the day.”

While another declared: “I’m in Marmaris now. Weather is beautiful.”
