An English Football League (EFL) supercomputer has backed Tranmere Rovers to ‘do a Wrexham’ with rapper A$AP Rocky set to complete a takeover.

The American musician, who is in a relationship with pop superstar Rihanna, is set to buy the League Two club as part of an investment group led by Joe Tacopina, according to The Sun.

The proposed takeover is awaiting regulatory approval from the EFL, with Tacopina and A$AP Rocky hoping to land an 80 per cent stake worth £15,000,000.

‘Rocky is tight with Joe and has committed to the Tranmere bid,’ a source told The Sun. ‘Joe has been to Tranmere matches and Rocky has plans to go over too after the deal is completed. We may even see Rihanna watching League Two football.’

Should the deal get over the line, Tranmere will be set for a huge financial boost, and will hope to follow in the footsteps of Wrexham.

The Welsh club were bought by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney and the Hollywood duo have transformed Wrexham both on and off the pitch.

Wrexham have climbed up from the fifth-tier National League to third-tier League One and currently sit second as the fight for promotion to the Championship.

Tranmere may be set for a similar fate with CSDB.gg’s supercomputer dramatically increasing the Merseyside-based club’s chances of promotion from League Two.

‘It’s a move that could turn them into the next Wrexham,’ a CSDB.gg spokesperson explained. ‘Prior to news of the impending takeover, the supercomputer had forecast Tranmere to finish 13th with only a 3.1% chance of finishing in the play-offs and less than 0.1% chance to win the title.

‘With A$AP Rocky and his fellow investors on board, however, and assuming that their backing will enable Tranmere to get busy in the January window to upgrade their team, Rovers will see their chances of a successful season explode.

‘The CSDB.gg supercomputer now sees a brighter future for the club with a 1.6% chance of the title but a far more healthy 10.5% chance of securing a play-off spot – a 238.8% improvement in their chances!

‘What’s more, if they were to make the play-offs, Rovers would now have a 11.% to go all the way and win promotion to League One. Previously they had only a 1.1% of doing so. That’s an even more dramatic uptick of 909.1% in their fortunes.’

Tranmere currently sit 16th in League Two – the fourth tier of English football – after their opening 11 games of the season. They would need three promotions to reach the billionaire’s playground that is the Premier League.
