SAINT ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) — A ticket booth at Crawford Field caught fire late Friday night, according to Metro 911.

The fire started after the Saint Albans football team took on Lincoln County.

Chris Collins, Fire Marshal, said the call came in around 10:15 p.m. and crews arrived to find a “well involved fire in the ticket booth.” He describes the aftermath as a total loss.

Collins says the “fire was consistent with improper disposal of discharged consumer fireworks, which ignited and produced enough heat to ignite surrounding combustibles, including the roof structure.”

According to Collins, the fire was quickly knocked down and started about 30 to 45 minutes following the game, after most people left for the night.

Metro 911 says there were no injuries reported.
