A Place in the Sun’s Laura Hamilton was left red-faced when a guest on her Mile Fly Club asked if she’d ever joined the “Mile High Club,”. The presenter had invited her friend, meteorologist Laura Tobin, for a serious chat about climate change.
However, when Hamilton cheekily asked the Good Morning Britain expert if she was a member of the infamous club, Tobin retorted that she wouldn’t dream of it due to the small size of aircraft toilets, before turning the question back on her host.
Hamilton, who split from husband Alex Goward in 2023, confessed to having “dabbled” in airborne antics: “I’ve dabbled,” she chuckled.
She explained taht there wouldn’t’ have been many witnesses: “It was an empty plane, travelling during Covid. There were lots of flights that were empty, and there you go.”
It’s reported that Laura is now dating CEO James Pettigrew, her first relationship since parting ways with her husband of nine years, Alex. Insiders say James is “spending all his time” with Laura, who co-parents Rocco, 10, and Thalia, nine, with her ex.
The Channel 4 star announced her separation from Alex in 2022 after 13 years together. Following their split, the Dancing on Ice star moved out of their family home and admitted feeling like she had “failed”, reports Wales Online.
Reflecting on the end of her marriage to Alex, Laura said: “We are co-parenting, and it works. But even that, you know, I kind of felt like I had failed.”
She explains that the relationship simply wasn’t working out: “It was a decision we both came to. We have an enormous amount of respect for each other, but we are now on different paths.”
She explained: “At the point, it was announced, we’d already overcome a lot of difficult times. But I am lucky that we have the relationship and respect for each other that we have, and our children’s happiness will always be our priority.”
