Two men with the same name chose the samevenue and date for their marriage proposals – and thankfully got the same answer. Woodlands Glencoe in Ballachulish had noticed that they had two bookings under the name – Daniel Kelly – for the same night.

The venue initial thought the luxury lodge bookings were a mistake, with one man getting a bout of pre-proposal nerves and accidentally making a double reservation. But after further investigation, they discovered that it was two separate men who had chosen the stunning location for their big night.

The first couple, Daniel Kelly and partner Lorna were engaged on the banks of Glencoe Lochan before checking in. Daniel was confident that his soulmate would say yes, so booked the venue’s ‘romance’ package.

When they arrived at their lodge, they discovered they had been upgraded to the site’s “most luxurious” accommodation, and they were met with chocolate, Prosecco, and rose petals. They were able to enjoy the first hours of their engagement in front of an idyllic backdrop.

Meanwhile, the second Daniel Kelly opted for a surprise at a lodge in the woods for his fiancée-to-be with the ‘marry me’ package. They had also been upgraded to a more spacious lodge and the unknowing Taylor walked into an incredibly romantic scene.

The accommodation was filled with rose petals and balloons, as well as huge letters spelling out ‘marry me‘ so that Daniel could pop the question then and there. Both women said yes and the luxury holiday resort has shared the wonderful, if coincidental, news.

The venue wrote: “Being self-proclaimed professionals in the art of romance, we knew we had to make this a night for the ages. Double Daniels, double the magic, and hopefully, double the yeses! We quickly went to work, plotting two distinctly epic proposals for each Daniel Kelly.

“Daniel Kelly #1 was set for a pre-check-in proposal on the banks of Glorious Glencoe Lochan. Optimistic that his true love, Lorna, would say YES, Daniel pre-booked the romance package with his reservation, which included a bottle of Prosecco on ice, luxury chocolates, a scattering of rose petals, and a romance banner.”

They continued: “Meanwhile, across the Woodlands Estate, Daniel Kelly #2 was working on his own magical master plan. Daniel booked the Marry Me package, meaning that the Woodlands wonder team went ALL out with a balloons and rose petal set-up like no other!

“Upon check-in, we upgraded the delightful duo to our most luxuriously spacious property, Forest Corner, where Taylor walked in to be blown away by Daniel’s super romantic gesture.

“So, two proposals down, two YESES, two thrilled couples and two Daniels feeling pretty good about their one-of-a-kind love stories.”

Both grooms chose to pop the question at the stunning Ballachulish venue, which boasts acres of tranquil Scottish forests and water with luxury accommodation. The venue, which offers special proposal packages, was delighted by the happy news and went over and above to ensure the moment was perfect for the happy couples.

They said: “If the delightful Daniels has inspired you, why not let us help you plan your perfect proposal? We’re very good at keeping secrets! Each year, 100s of couples check-in with the intention of putting a ring on it and we’re SO HERE FOR THAT!

“Our hidden-away havens already contain everything you could wish for in the romance department; however, if you really want to push the boat out we can organise a proposal set up to suit your taste and budget. From a scattering of rose petals and a chilled bottle of something bubbly, to an all-out balloon-art masterpiece, get in touch and let us know your thoughts and dreams.”
