If you’re keen to add a bit of excitement to your love life, then a visit to Britain’s ‘kinkiest’ hotel might just be the answer.

It’s common knowledge that romance can take a back seat in long-term relationships, but @philc84 suggests reigniting the spark at “a hotel perfect for a bit of hanky panky”, a sentiment echoed by numerous glowing comments. The establishment in question is The Crazy Bear, a “luxury hotel” touted as “pretty damn kinky”, with locations in Beaconsfield and Oxford.

Phil humorously noted that while there were other guests present, he refrained from filming them as they appeared so content he “assumed they must be having an affair“, although he was there on his own.

He gave viewers a tour of his room, highlighting: “All rooms are different, but they’ve all got a feature bath. She’s [staff member] told me to be very careful ’cause it fills from the ceiling […] there’s a fireplace, a bed – this is where the magic happens, or at least the magic has happened many many times with many many people but I’m gonna try and put that out of my mind – a TV that you can connect your phone to, a bin […], mirror, chairs, a table with the most used ‘do not disturb’ sign in the country, another fireplace, and then the bathroom”.

Phil described the bedroom as “very nice”, though now the sight of a bathtub in the middle of a room makes him “think of Saltburn” – a reference those in the know will understand.

He then headed for a meal, jesting that the young couples were “realising their mistake” due to the high prices. “The night I was there, rooms were between £120 and £240 which isn’t that bad, but the bar and restaurant are very London when it comes to pricing”, he remarked.

Phil went on: “A beer, steak, chips, and a little ice cream thing was £82. Add cocktails into the mix, and I could see in some of the lads’ faces that buying romance was coming at a heavy cost. Come back Pizza Express followed by a Travelodge; all is forgiven.”

He mentioned that they “have big parties here” and they sound “fun”, but they weren’t his cup of tea – however, he described the men’s toilets as “sensational”. Phil then retired to his room and had a bath, joking that it was odd to be in the bathtub “thinking of all the things that it’s seen and heard”.

In the morning, he reported that he slept well, and the “noise from other rooms was minimal”, and you “only heard very large movement”.

“If you’re in a relationship and you can still stand the sight of each other, then the Crazy Bear is a very romantic place to go for a spicy change of scene”, he advised, although he cautioned people to try and work out what sort of food and drinks they wanted beforehand so you could “financially prepare” for it.

In the comments, one man praised the hotel, writing: “Went to Crazy Bear Beaconsfield once – it was soooo expensive but loved every second of the experience.”

Some have dubbed it a “British love hotel”, with one woman confessing: “I got engaged here” – suggesting it has its romantic moments. Another labelled it as “seedy”, while a wit quipped: “Mirrors probably have other guests watching from the room behind it”.
