A trailer for the second part of Outlander season 7 has dropped and it has left fans in tears. The new glimpse into the Starz show’s penultimate season shows our favourite couple Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) and his time-travelling wife Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) ripped apart once more.

The trailer also teases Jamie’s death, as Lord John Grey (David Berry) appears to break the terrible news to Claire that her husband may have met his end.

However, Claire remains unconvinced, stating: “I would feel it in my heart if it had stopped, mine would stop too.”

It comes after fans have previously speculated how Jamie might die in the series, as he appears as a ghost in the very first episode before Claire travels back in time.

Fans took to the YouTube comments section to share their thoughts on the possibility of Jamie’s demise, with many expressing anguish over such a heartbreaking end for the character.

“They better not kill Jamie I will cry forever,” one fan warned, as another asked: “Is anybody worrying about what happened to Jamie?” (sic)

“I want the spoiler! I’ll wait until someone confirms if Jaimie dies or not – if he does, I’m not watching,” a third fan insisted. (sic)

“If they kill Jamie ill be devastated,” another fan commented with a broken heart emoji. (sic)

A fifth fan worried: “If they kill him…. so help me! If they kill any of them!! So help me!! My gosh, did we not stay loyal fans for long enough.. did we not shed tears for all the others that were not the main cast?? Well maybe a few we didn’t.. but still THEY BEST NOT make it end badly. We’re just not going to watch until after everyone else has and then, maybe we will..or maybe we’ll say chuck it.. (we being a big fan group).” (sic)

While other fans were in floods of tears, as one said: “omg I’m already crying just on the trailer,I will be a complete mess during the season.” (sic)

“I’m sobbing,” one admitted, as another wrote: “Oh my almost crying at the trailer, ill go get so tissues in bulk for november.” (sic)

One more curious fan asked: “All I wanna know is if they’re going to explain Jamie being a ghost in the first season???? Then I will be ok with the show ending.” (sic)

Author Diana Gabaldon, who wrote the book series on which the show is based, has promised fans a tear-jerking but ultimately happy ending to the show.

However, some viewers believe we will also see Jamie’s demise, as Diana also confirmed Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies) does indeed see his ghost in the opening episode of Outlander.

About 25 minutes into episode one, Frank is seen walking through the rain when he comes across a spectral figure. The man is staring up at a window of the bed and breakfast where he and his wife Claire (Caitriona Balfe) are staying.

At the time, Claire is brushing her hair and – when Frank turns to confront the ghostly figure – he is gone. “You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” Claire tells her husband upon his return, to which he replies: “I’m not all sure that I haven’t.”

In fact, it seems Frank has seen an apparition of the 18th-century Scotsman, whom his wife married when she travelled back in time.

Following the closure of Lionsgate+ in the UK, new episodes of Outlander will be available on Starz and to stream on Prime Video channel MGM+ from Sunday, November 22. You must be an Amazon Prime member before you can sign up for MGM+.
