A Long Island woman armed with “a knife in each hand” lunged at her boyfriend during an argument about the ending their relationship, officials said Wednesday.

Marienny Yanez, 29, was arrested and charged with assault and related crimes following the incident late on Tuesday, the Nassau County Police said in a news release.

Detectives responded to a 911 call just before 9:30 p.m. for reports of an assault with a weapon at a residence in Levittown.

First responders didn’t see anybody at the scene but observed blood on the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom floors.

Officers then headed to a nearby hospital, where they learned the victim, an unidentified 29-year-old man, had been attacked by Yanez during breakup talks.

“Yanez confronted the victim with a knife in each hand and lunged at the victim with the one in her right hand,” police said.

As he attempted to protect himself, the victim raised his right arm to block the attack and suffered a laceration to his forearm.

The girlfriend then dropped both knives and took the victim to the hospital, where she was later arrested.

The condition of the victim wasn’t immediately known.

Yanez is charged with one count each of assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon and criminal mischief, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

She’s expected to be arraigned in Nassau District Court on Wednesday.
