BARROW COUNTY, Ga. (WANF/Gray News) – The 14-year-old accused of the deadly shooting at Apalachee High School in Georgia entered a not guilty plea.
Colt Gray entered his plea in Barrow County Superior Court on Tuesday, according to court documents. Colt and his attorney also waived a formal arrangement and demanded a jury trial.
Colt faces 55 charges, including felony and malice murder.
His father Colin Gray was also charged in indicted in connection to the shooting. He faces 29 counts, including second-degree murder, second-degree cruelty to children, involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct. Authorities said they believe he gave Colt access to the gun used in the shooting.
Students Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14, and teachers Cristina Irimie and Richard Aspinwall were killed in the Sept. 4 shooting.
Colt and his father are expected to be tried separately.
