LeBron James reminded Bronny who is boss by filling his son’s car with cereal in a wild prank before the two made NBA history.

LeBron, 39 and Bronny, 20, became the first father and son to play in the NBA together in the LA Lakers’ season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

James Jr was a second-round draft pick for the Lakers last summer, checking into play alongside his dad during the second quarter. The pair first appeared on the court together earlier this month in a pre-season game against the Phoenix Suns.

‘Y’all ready? You see the intensity, right? Just play carefree, though,’ father told son on the bench moments before entering the fray. ‘Don’t worry about mistakes. Just go out and play hard.’

Before that intense moment, it was all fun of games with the basketball legend and Nike sharing a clip of him hazing the young rookie before the big game.

LeBron is seen cheekily emptying a final box of Fruity Pebbles through the sunroof of Bronny’s car. The unsuspecting youngster is then spotted leaving the house and opening the car door, packed to the brim with the cereal.

‘Hey Rook, you better not be late,’ LeBron shouts from his own car. A dumfounded Bronny says: ‘Yo, are you serious? Come on man?’

LeBron fires one more shot before driving away grinning: ‘Hey, clean up my driveway, it’s a mess.’

‘Yo, you’re too old for this.,’ Bronny pleads. ‘What’s going on bruh, come on?’

Father and son were given a huge ovation from the crowd inside the Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday night.

Among those watching on were Ken Griffey Sr and Ken Griffey Jr who made the same history in Major League Baseball having played 51 games together for the Seattle Mariners in 1990 and 1991 as the sport’s first father-son duo.

‘It’s always been family over everything,’ LeBron said alongside Bronny after the game.

‘I lost a lot of time because of this league so to be able to have this moment where I am working still and I can work alongside my son, it’s one of the greatest gifts I’ve ever got from the man above and I’m going to take full advantage of it.’

Bronny said: ‘Going up to the scorers’ table and checking in for the first time was a crazy moment I will never forget.

‘I’m just extremely grateful for everything. I was given an amazing opportunity to come into this league and get better every day and learn every day.’
