Former president Donald Trump’s stop at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s, where he gleefully salted and sold French fries earlier this week, has left the fast food joint with a super-sized serving of negative Yelp reviews.
“The fries were too salty as if someone who lost a major election had been crying over them for an hour,” one review said.
“Senile old man got bronzer on my fries, didn’t wear gloves,” a second person quipped while leaving the eatery a one-star rating.
Many also touched on Trump’s criminal record while others urged fast-food lovers to avoid the independently operated McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, citing the former president’s photo op there on Sunday.
Trump manned the French fry station and only served food to pre-selected supporters across five different cars. The restaurant in Bucks County was otherwise closed to the public that morning.
“Went to this McDonalds to try the new chicken Big Mac and was stunned to see a convicted felon operating the drive through,” another review read. “Your company hires felons? Also closing the store for the day to perform this political theater is crazy to me.”
In the wake of Trump’s appearance at the Feasterville fast food joint, an “unusual activity alert” appeared on its Yelp page before comments were disabled altogether.
“While we don’t take a stand one way or the other when it comes to this incident, we’ve temporarily disabled the posting of content to this page as we work to investigate whether the content you see here reflects actual consumer experiences rather than the recent events,” a message on Yelp said to users.
McDonald’s Corporate was also forced to release a statement amid backlash sparked by Trump’s fry-slinging antics.
“McDonald’s does not endorse candidates for elected office and that remains true in this race for the next President,” the company said in a memo obtained by CNN and posted by a social media user claiming to be a McDonald’s franchise operator. “We are not red or blue — we are golden.”
