Workers at a West Lothian vets got all dressed to raise money for charity and their pets were in the pink too.

Last week Westport Veterinary Clinic in Linlithgow took part in Wear it Pink – an event to raise awareness and money for Breast Cancer Now.

Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink day is one of the biggest fundraising events in the UK.

Taking place during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, thousands of amazing people wear it pink in their communities, schools or work places for the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now.

A spokesperson for the vets said: “Westport Vets’ Linlithgow practice had a consult room decorated in pink for the pets to get involved.

“We had a great turn-out with lots of top dog models!

“The dogs had great fun and were super-excited playing with pink Flamingo toys and getting treats for pics in pink attire. The giant Barbie box prop gave the clients a good chuckle when the dogs got inside, making their dogs into Wear it Pink edition canine Barbies.

“Team Westport would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our Wear it Pink event, those who took part on the day, those who kindly stopped by to share their stories about breast cancer with us, and to everyone who kindly made donations. Such an invaluable charity to support. We raised £202 for Breast Cancer Now.”

Breast cancer affects everyone. Breast Cancer Now say that 2300 women under 40 are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Men can get breast cancer too. Although it’s rare, 370 men are diagnosed each year. Breast Cancer Now are dedicated to giving support for today and hope for the future, for everyone affected by breast cancer.
