David Tennant is a household British name, best known for his role as the 10th Doctor in Doctor Who.

The actor, who was born and raised in Bathgate, West Lothian, has also had star roles in Broadchurch, Good Omens and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

Having hung up his sonic screwdriver, the actor currently gracing our screens romping through the Disney+ adaptation of the Jilly Cooper novel, Rivals. He plays Lord Tony Baddingham, the cold-hearted controller of TV network Corinium.

Married to English actress Georgia Moffett, daughter of Sandra Dickinson and fifth Doctor actor Peter Davison, the couple live in the quiet yet affluent London suburb of Chiswick. They share a lively family life with their five children, often sharing lighthearted glimpses of their daily lives on social media.

Nestled along the banks of the River Thames, Chiswick is an upscale area of West London that is famous for its tree-lined avenues and distinctly ‘villagey’ feel. Picturesque streets lined with Victorian and Edwardian homes offer a picture-postcard view of London, but the riverside lifestyle comes with a high price tag.

According to Rightmove, the overall average sales price for property in the area was £987,656 over the last year.

Terraced properties sold for an average of £1,171,038, with semi-detached properties fetching a whopping £2,011,286. Flats, however, are a little more affordable, selling for an average price of £544,010.

It’s not just the Tennants who call this quiet corner of London home. Rumour has it that fellow ‘Chiswickites’ include Ant and Dec, Kate Beckinsale, Vanessa Redgrave, Roger Daltrey and Nigel Havers.

Visitors to this quiet city idyll can take a leisurely stroll through the picturesque Chiswick House and Gardens, an 18th-century villa surrounded by stunning landscapes. The gardens are perfect for a peaceful picnic or a scenic walk.

For foodies, the High Road is lined with trendy cafes, traditional pubs, and upscale restaurants. La Trompette is a favourite choice for locals and visitors alike, serving up an eclectic range of modern European and international cuisine, while wine bar Vinoteca Argentinian restaurant Buenos Aires are also very popular.

Then there is the highly renowned Chiswick Farmers’ Market that is held every Sunday. As Chiswick’s only social enterprise farmer’s market it specialises in high-quality farm produce and food products.

For art lovers, the Chiswick Arts Society showcases local talent through exhibitions and events throughout the year. Additionally, the area’s historic architecture, including St. Nicholas Church and the iconic Thames Path, adds to its appeal for families looking to live here.

Popular with commuters, Chiswick is served by Turnham Green tube station on the District and Piccadilly lines.

It is also just a short bus ride away from Richmond with its riverside restaurants and within easy reach of some iconic London landmarks including The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, Ham House and Garden and Hampton Court Palace.
