Loose Women’s Kelle Bryan found herself on the receiving end of a ticking off from her co-presenter after showing up late for the programme.

Thursday’s episode saw host Charlene White navigate the show with panellists Kelle, Judi Love and Brenda Edwards. That said, there was an awkward moment following the commercial break when Kelle was missing from the set.

Charlene didn’t hesitate to reprimand Kelle for spending too much time chatting away with the audience members when the programme resumed. The cameras revealed Kelle deep in conversation on the studio floor.

“Kelle, Kelle, you’ve got to come back! ” Charlene shouted across the studio, before explaining: “I’ll tell you why Kelle’s doing it. Every time she’s on the show she says ‘hello’ to every single audience member that’s come in, which is nice.”

Taking advantage of the moment, Charlene extended an invitation to viewers at home to join them in person as part of the studio audience, even hinting they might have a natter with Kelle themselves, reports the Mirror.

The episode also featured a segment where Vanessa Feltz talked candidly about her romantic life and battles with weight. She shed light on her new book offering deeper insight into her personal experiences.

Kelle has been serving as a panellist on Loose Women for several years now, having made history as part of the first ever all-black panel on the ITV show in its 21-year run during 2020.

However, following her appearance on the show, she faced a barrage of vile and racist abuse. Despite this, the programme won a RTS Award for Daytime Programme and was hailed as “inspiring and refreshing” by numerous viewers.

“There were lots of positive comments [afterwards] but, unbelievably, there was lots of racism, lots of racist comments. Like, ‘I switched off, who do they think they are? ‘ ‘As soon as I saw them…’ There was still lots of that kind of stuff,” she recounted.

“We have a really good team at Loose who protect us from that and also the digital team are amazing at scanning and ensuring that we’re as protected as possible. But it’s still there, but that’s what we’re challenging. We’re challenging old-fashioned, out-dated mindsets that need to be challenged,” she told The Mirror.

“So if they come out of the woodworks, we can have a conversation and go, ‘Really? ! Why would you say that? ‘ It wasn’t even us that needed to jump on them – everybody else on Twitter was bashing them. So I was like, ‘Oh, good luck with that!'”

Loose Women is on ITV weekdays at 12.30pm and on ITVX
