Pride of Britain is an award show like no other—while many ceremonies focus on celebrity winners, this event celebrates the remarkable accomplishments of everyday individuals from across the UK.

The award show returns to our screens tonight to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Since 1999, it has been held in association with The Prince’s Trust, drawing support from celebrities and politicians who attend each year.

What is Pride of Britain?

The Pride of Britain Awards honour everyday individuals who have performed random acts of kindness, overcome adversity, and displayed extraordinary courage. Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, the event attracts a host of famous faces, including music legends, sporting icons, Hollywood stars, and beloved TV personalities.

While the awards have been held since 1999, they were first televised on ITV in 2000. The ceremony is organised in partnership with the Daily Mirror, TSB Bank, Lidl, ITV, Good Morning Britain, and The Prince’s Trust.

When is Pride of Britain 2024 on TV and how can you watch it?

The ceremony was held on Monday, October 21, but it will air on STV at 8pm on Thursday, October 27.

Who’s hosting the show?

Carol Vorderman has been the host of the Pride of Britain Awards since 1999, and she will continue in that role this year alongside Diversity member Ashley Banjo. Ashley joined her as co-host in 2021 for the 23rd edition of the event

  • Outstanding Bravery Award: Recognises adults who risk their own safety to help someone in danger.
  • This Morning’s Emergency Services Award: Honours individuals in the police, fire department, ambulance services, or rescue teams who have gone above and beyond their duty of care.

  • TSB Community Hero: Celebrates individuals who go the extra mile to help others live their best lives.

  • Good Morning Britain’s Young Fundraiser of the Year: Awarded to a person aged 17 and under for their inspirational charity work.

  • King’s Trust Young Achiever: Recognises the extraordinary accomplishments of young people and their journeys toward a positive future, supported by the Trust.

  • Lifetime Achievement Award: Honours significant contributions that have had a national or international impact.

  • Special Recognition: Celebrates achievements not covered in other categories, including inspiring carers, campaigners, and members of the armed forces.

  • Child/Teenager of Courage Award: Acknowledges young people who face significant challenges to help others or put themselves at risk to save someone in peril.
