BLUEFIELD, W.Va. – The Department of Justice said a 24-year-old from McDowell County was sentenced to two years in prison for a Federal gun crime.

According to the DOJ, Carl Thomas Mullins, also known as “TJ Mullins”, from Isaban broke into a business in Wyoming County on Sept. 10, 2021 and stole a Colt model M4 carbine 5.56mm rifle, a Black Aces model Pro Series M 12-gauge shotgun, and a Silver Eagle model RZ17TAC 12-gauge shotgun.

Mullins later planned to sell the firearms or trade them for drugs, according to the DOJ.

The rifle was found, but the two shotgun have not been found.

Mullins was sentenced to two years in prison, which will be followed by three years of supervised release for theft of firearms from a federal firearms licensee.
