Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes Radebe was visibly moved during the show’s latest instalment.
The competition heated up on Saturday evening as the stars hit the dancefloor, each hoping to dazzle the judges with their performances.
The previous weekend witnessed Jamie Borthwick and Montell Douglas achieving almost perfect marks of 39, placing them at the top of the leaderboard. In contrast, Paul Merson scored a lowly 19, resulting in his departure from the contest.
Now, with the slate wiped clean, the celebrities are gearing up to impress with new routines. Among them were Montell and her professional partner Johannes Radebe, who once again wowed the judging panel.
Their performance this week featured a Cha Cha to Love Potion No. 9″by The Clovers. Post-performance, host Claudia Winkleman lauded their effort as “absolutely brilliant”, reports the Mirror.
Come scoring time, they received a commendable 35, comprising three nines and an eight. As they revelled in their score, Claudia announced: “That is the highest Cha Cha of this series.” Yet, it was an emotionally charged moment when Claudia turned to Johannes and observed: “You look like you’re going to cry.”
Montell, visibly moved as her professional partner teared up, also began to dab at his eyes as his makeup started to run. After receiving a score of 39 the previous week, Montell couldn’t hide her nerves about their performance.
“I was a bit nervous actually, I’ll be honest, just before. I loved it but I was like, ‘I’m really nervous’. Because of the speed I knew that, coming from a sprinter, I thought I’d be able to keep up!” she admitted.
Audience members immediately expressed their opinions on Twitter regarding Montell and Johannes’ dance. One Tweet read: “Montell and Johannes are my favourite couple in the show so far. Seeing her progress from week one to now is incredible. That Cha Cha Cha was incredible.”
Another viewer tweeted: “Montell and Jojo fast becoming one of my fave couples.” A thurd commented: “My three favs all at the beginning gosh I wasn’t ready, I’m SO proud of Pete and Montell is killing it every week, I think Punam was pretty good to #strictly.”

A really stylish and fun couple tonight -so enjoyable,” another fan praised. One devoted fan stated: “If we’re talking journey contestants then Montell is the real winner here…she can DANCE,”
Meanwhile, a different Twitter user said: “Montell is fast becoming one of my favourites. She brings SO much energy to her dances and I’ve always loved Johannes anyway.”
