An Edinburgh street outside a pub has been locked down after an incident took place.

Officers from Police Scotland raced to the Clermiston Inn on Ranoch Road shortly before midnight on Friday, October 25, after reports of a disturbance. Local eyewitnesses reported armed cops storming the pub.

It is unclear what the exact nature of the incident was or if anyone was injured.

Images captured of the scene show a number of police vehicles and one incident response van as cops probed the area and erected a cordon. Some punters can be seen standing outside the cordon while the lights remain on inside the pub.

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
