Looking chic in the rain can be a challenge. You want to step out looking your best, not swaddled in bulky waterproofs or arriving looking dishevelled.

That’s why we were thrilled to see that Next has launched a Longline Trench Coat that’s ‘actually waterproof’. Unlike many trench coats, which often prioritise style over practicality, this jacket features a hood – incredibly handy if you’re caught in a downpour en route to work or heading out for an evening with friends.

Plus, it’s crafted from 100% nylon instead of cotton, which is what helps keep you dry. Even better the belted coat creates a flattering waist and features taped seams and a button-up fastening at the front.

Priced at £80, it comes with handy pockets and fastenable sleeve cuffs. Available in sizes 6-20, one note is that the style ‘comes up large’ so it’s worth checking the measurements before ordering.

While the jacket is new to the next website, it has some great reviews. One shopper commented: “Lovely, stylish raincoat, that is actually waterproof! Comes up very large though. I am a size 10 and had to reorder the 6. Expensive for a raincoat but worth it.” reports Birmingham Live.
